How I use your information
I use contact details, messages, booking and payment information to respond to enquiries, arrange appointments and provide psychotherapy or coaching. Relevant information about your health, relationships and circumstances supports our work. Most information comes from you; in couples therapy, your partner may also share information concerning you.
The legal bases are our agreement or steps you request before it, GDPR Article 6(1)(b); accounting obligations, Article 6(1)(c); and my legitimate interests in answering other enquiries and securing the website, Article 6(1)(f). Sensitive information is processed with your explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a).
Providing information is voluntary, but I may be unable to provide a service without the details needed for it.
Session recording and notes
I use Upheal to capture session audio and generate transcripts or draft notes using AI. These records support documentation and continuity of our work and are treated as confidential personal information. Notes are stored as protected digital records.
I ask for separate explicit consent before recording and AI processing, including from both partners in couples work. You can decline this processing or withdraw consent for future sessions. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. We discuss any implications for our work and the handling of existing records.
Service providers
I use Squarespace for the website and newsletter, Google Workspace for email, Zanda Health for bookings and online sessions, Calendly for introductory calls, Upheal for session documentation, and Stripe and Vipps MobilePay for payments.
Providers process the information needed for their roles. Appropriate data processing agreements apply where they act on my behalf. Some also act independently for purposes such as payment security and legal obligations.
Information may be disclosed to professional advisers or authorities where necessary and legally justified. Sensitive information requires an additional lawful basis.
Some providers process information outside the European Economic Area.
Newsletter and cookies
The newsletter is sent only with your consent, Article 6(1)(a). You can unsubscribe through any newsletter or by contacting me. Becoming a client does not subscribe you.
Squarespace processes technical data, including IP address and browser information, to operate and secure the website. Optional tracking requires appropriate consent before activation.
Retention
Information is kept only for its purpose or a legal requirement. Accounting records are generally kept for five years after the end of the relevant financial year.
Limited information may be retained for a specific legal claim under Article 6(1)(f) and, for sensitive information, Article 9(2)(f). This is assessed individually.
Your rights
Subject to applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion, restricted processing or data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Contact me using the details above. I normally respond within one month. Each partner in couples therapy has individual rights; access does not automatically include the other partner’s private information.
You can complain directly to Datatilsynet, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark; dt@datatilsynet.dk. See datatilsynet.dk. You may also contact another competent EU/EEA supervisory authority.
