Psychotherapy for
the frictions
of modern life
The way we relate shapes the way we live.
The way we relate shapes the way we live.
Hi, I’m Andrea, psychotherapist MPF and the human behind Aligned.
I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship difficulties, questions of identity and belonging, and changes that have unsettled the life they know. Our work makes room for your relationship with yourself, your body and the people around you. You can bring what feels difficult, contradictory or not yet clear.
My approach is relational and body-oriented. Alongside conversation, we pay attention to what you notice in your body. My background in literature, art, writing and yoga shapes how I listen.
Alongside psychotherapy, I offer coaching for questions about work, leadership and direction. We begin with what brings you here.
Make room.
For mixed feelings.
For different needs.
For another way to respond.
Working through the frictions.
-

Relational on all levels
Everything we do happens in relationship. How you reach for someone. What you hold back. Where you lose sight of your own needs. We explore how you relate to yourself and others, including what happens between us. There’s room to understand familiar patterns and try something different.
-

Body-oriented & trauma-aware
Our bodies know more than our thinking mind alone. A held breath. A tight jaw. An impulse to move away. We pay attention to these sensations and explore them at your pace. There’s room to stay with a feeling, and room to pause. Together, we explore what helps you feel grounded enough to be curious. Safety is a felt experience.
-

Mindfulness as method and attitude
Mindfulness is part of how we work: present, attuned, open to what unfolds. Through breath, bodily sensations or a subtle shift in the conversation, we may notice something that usually passes by. We make space to be curious and explore another way to respond.
What brings you here?
Perhaps a conversation with your partner keeps ending in the same place. You find yourself agreeing before you have had time to consider what you need. Or a change in work, family or where you live has raised questions you cannot yet answer.
Sometimes the difficulty is clear. Sometimes it is a sense that something in your life needs attention, even though you are still finding words for it.
In therapy, we make room to understand your experience and the relationships and circumstances around it. We can explore familiar patterns, what matters to you now, and what you would like to approach differently.
